Class Hours, Schedule & Location

As we continue to adapt to the big and small nuances of living in COVID-influenced times, this may affect class hours, location and schedule. For example, in Fall 2021, we are considering reopening class to meeting in person in Honolulu (for students who are interested in doing so), as well as continuing student participation via Zoom. Please contact us for the latest information. 

Regardless of the type of class schedule below, there are 16 school days over the school year. Each day is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Hawai'i time), including breaks and a short lunch.  

Also regardless of the type of schedule, students are assigned study modules between each class session and for ongoing students, between each year of study during summer break. Classes are not held during the summer, allowing time for integration of work, travel, and personal and family time. 

The study modules require completion of assigned text readings and homework questions, often of an introspective nature involving inner processing and meditation. Homework assignments are submitted to SPHS faculty one week prior to each class session. For students in Second and Third Years, modules also require interaction with practice clients, practice exercises and healing write-ups. 

SCHEDULE 1 – Four Sessions Per School Year 

For this schedule, a class session is comprised of four consecutive days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday), or equivalent to two weekends of Schedule 2 below. It occurs four times a year. 

The schedule for incoming First Year students is as follows: 

• October 1-4, 2021  
• January 7-10, 2022
• April 1-4, 2022
• July 8-11, 2022

The schedule for incoming Third Year students is as follows: 

• September 2021  
• December 2021
• March 2022
• June 2022

SCHEDULE 2 – Eight Sessions Per School Year 

For this schedule, a class session occurs one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per month for eight months. 

The schedule for incoming Second Year students is as follows: 

• September 2021
• October 2021
• November 2021
• January 2022
• February 2022
• March 2022
• April 2022
• May 2022

Note: There is no session in December for Second Year students due to the winter holiday season.
