Dr. Deborah Agles has had an impressive career in medicine spanning 40+ years. She worked as an MD for the United States Navy and then moved to private practice where she has been practicing for 20+ years.
Her skills lie in the intersection of her western and alternative approaches to medicine. She prioritizes treating illnesses as naturally as possible but with the expertise and support of her medical background. Attending SPHS in 2014 expanded her skills that changed her practice, her life, and how she views the world personally and medically.
Gil has an enduring fascination of his is how energy, so-called, and physical anatomy fit together in the human body and experience. He has built a healing practice around this passion.
Gil graduated from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing in 1998. Prior to studying at BBSH, Gil earned a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and worked in research labs in his home state of Maryland.
After moving to Maui in 1999, Gil became certified in massage (2001) and biodynamic craniosacral therapy (2004). He taught anatomy and physiology, as well as neuromuscular therapy and craniosacral, at massage schools on Maui from 2002 to 2014.
He currently practices energy healing, bodywork, and massage through his private practice on Maui. He is also works as a massage therapist at one of Maui's premier resorts.
Kauakea is a 2004 SPHS graduate whose healing expertise focuses on astrology, emotional clearing, grief facilitation, and sound healing. In the second year, she teaches astrology with practical hands-on astro cards and a fill-in workbook. Her approach is fun and interactive.
Since the school began, she has been a foundational faculty helping with her professional photography and business skills. Until recently, she taught in all three years of the program in various capacities.
She is the mother of son Sam and daughter Alea, who is also a graduate of SPHS. She loves being a tutu with her grandson Ke'ohi and lives with her husband Geno in Honoka’a on the Big Island near her daughter and grandson. She is currently teaching via Zoom.
MS-Exercise Physiology & Wellness Teacher
A 2019 SPHS graduate, Wendy teaches the lifestyle segment and assists with more in the first year. She holds a master's degree in Exercise Physiology & Wellness and has a healing, life coaching and nutrition and fitness counseling practice in Kailua, O'ahu.
