About Ruey
In 1993 Ruey “hit the wall” and had an spiritual experience that would shift the direction of her life and purpose. At that time, she was frustrated by an unhappy marriage, dealing with a very ill daughter, and grappling with the feeling that the whole reason she had entered nursing—to serve God—was being thwarted by bureaucratic demands.
One day she fell to her knees and prayed: “I will go anywhere and do anything you ask, God, if you will reveal yourself to me.” Soon after, she found herself at a women’s spiritual retreat where her task was to journal about her dreams and then create a collage.
When she began writing, the words poured forth. “Dreams—what are those?” she began. “I used to have dreams, now I have despair.” But as she continued writing, she touched again a sense of hope and purpose. This was the beginning of a journey that led her next to her first spiritual teacher, Rev. Virginia EllenRuey serves as a facilitator in your process of healing.
With Virginia, Ruey had two remarkable experiences, both of which pushed far beyond the traditional bio-medical path she had been trained in. First, Ruey’s hands became ignited with the power to heal; next, in a powerful meditation, she was told that she was destined to become a compassionate healer. After this revelation, Ruey felt the heartache she had been experiencing leave her and she knew that she had found her life’s work.
Through her own extensive journey with healing, finding purpose, and shifting she has found a way to dedicate her life to sharing these experiences with the world. She maintains an active healing practice in Honolulu, where she created and runs the Sacred Path Healing School. Until early 2019, she was an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN. Ruey taught nursing at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa from 1976 to 2000, at which point she retired as Professor Emeritus.
As an energy healer, she does not medically diagnose or prescribe treatment. Her approach is holistic, focusing on you as a dynamic, unique being, composed of body, mind, and spirit. Her integrated practice combines active energy healing with professional health counseling. She does not advise you to discontinue any medical treatment, as her work is intended to harmonize with any other healing work you receive.
To further facilitate your healing, Ruey may discuss the major stressors in your life, your belief systems, health history, family medical history, diet and nutrition, exercise, your childhood, your relationships, and other issues that may influence your emotional and physical well-being. She is currently taking new clients. Many of her clients later became students.
